Scott L. Carmona College of Business

Client’s Request
Put together a full social media marketing proposal for the Scott L. Carmona College of Business at Saginaw Valley State University. Include an audience analysis, policies, special and weekly campaigns, original hashtags, and a five month content calendar featuring graphics and captions. Follow the university’s existing brand guidelines for visuals.

Behind The Scenes
This project presented a unique challenge, as the new Scott L. Carmona College of Business building debuted just before the university ceased in-person activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I now faced the question: how do you market a building no one can visit?

I adapted by focusing my content and campaigns on educational facts and RSOs, registered student organizations that catered to business majors and provided online social activities for prospective students. My educational content highlighted the success of CCB’s faculty and alumni through graphs and figures and put a friendly and familiar face to the building.

The project was also competitive, as the social media manager considered a small number of proposals. He reported a rise in engagement while posting my content and decided to implement my templates and campaigns going forward.
